Meet The Team

CEO & Literary Agent

Hi, I’m Josi.

I’m the owner of Beck Literary Agency, as well as USA Today Best Selling Author JL Beck of dark romance.

I’ve been a published author for 10+ years, and a literary agent doing deals for over 3 years. I spent many years running a small publishing company, and managed foreign rights for numerous titles.

I have my associates in business management, and I’m a member of the Association of American Literary Agents.

What sets me apart from other agents is I know the struggle that authors face. I understand how much work goes into writing a book, and marketing it. Being on the other side of the table gives me an advantage others don’t have.

I made the choice to open my own agency in 2023, so I could help other authors like myself. I’ve worked with numerous agents, myself and feel like I have a good understanding of what authors need from an agent. Reading and supporting the authors I represent are my biggest joy.

When I’m not working, I spend my time with my two kiddos, four dogs, and my husband who I’ve been married to for thirteen years.

Hi, I’m Katie

Katie started her love for reading at a young age, and continues today with reading an average of 50 books a year! With an associates in office manager she possess the ability to problem solve and communicate effectively. She has been told she is very approachable- when needing help with no judgement.

Recently, fulfilling a dream to move up north to our Cabin- where she lives with my husband, two children, 2 dogs and a kitten fur grandchild. She enjoys going camping with family and friends- making memories.

Katie enjoys learning new things, which is how she began to work here.

She looks forward to learning and growing with Beck Literary Agency!

What we’re interested in:

At the moment we’re actively seeking a multitude of genres, including: romance, mystery/suspense/thriller, contemporary romance, upper market fiction, dark romance, horror, dystopian, and fantasy. We do not represent short stories, or poems.

All submissions should be sent to submissions(AT)beckliterary(DOT)com and must include a query, author bio, social media links, any relevant information about yourself or career, as well as the first five pages of whatever work you’re submitting. We do our best to respond to every submission, and ask that you give us 8-12 weeks before emailing with a nudge.
